Remembering Jessica Lange's toes...

Two memories of the diva; one is from King Kong and the other is from Interview Magazine.

At this point, it's the Interview image that has prevailed. She was wearing a long black dress that showed off her shoulders and some cleavage. Both arms raised over her head. Chin up very high showing off her neck. Her legs bent just enough to make one wonder if she is standing or sitting. Her feet, clearly reshaped from wearing pointed shoes over a long period of time, sneak out from under the bottom of the black dress. The only whiteness in the photograph is her upper body, and her feet, everything else in the picture is close to black. Her feet stand out, they look deformed... transformed. One can imagine her in the many shoes she has worn. One can imagine the many parties she's been to wearing those shoes. Her toes, her toes are diminshed, deformed in the name of the socialites.

Could not find the image of Lange showing off her toes, but I found the following sites relating her name to toes in some form: check the ballet, Word on R. Travolta, watch out for the Giants' footsteps, some Fellini, then word on Guns & Roses.

A Cocaine Cowboy was smoking Marijuana. One of the film viewers claimed that he moved too slow. Perhaps it was the viewer who was smoking grass, actually? Maybe that is why the film seemed slow? And why the office smelled funny? And why Andy felt he could have acted better in the film?

Then an authoritative claim is made by Tom Sullivan, the filmmaker: that the film cost him $950,00.00. Andy does not understand where the money went. Maybe the sack falling off the sky was real cocaine? Maybe Tom Sullivan had to do the take more than once? Or maybe Sullivan took a hit to get in the mood to direct... (Die you speculator, how dare you speculate, how dare you make shit up!! How dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare you gossip on a well respected gossiper, the one we all love....)

Imagine the cocaine sack falling and all the non-union grips waiting at the bottom hoping that the sack will break and the white stuff goes all over the place. All of them secretly waiting to inhale, hoping hoping hoping.

I had no idea that Liz Taylor was married to John Warner... let alone the gossip on her sex life... She was married seven times at the time she was hanging with Mr. Warner. Now her total marriages are eight as of 2000. She married John Warner, a politician, as well as reverend, and Richard Burton (twice). As of April 2000, she has been married 8 times now. And after being "The Queen of the Nile," this is how she is remembered:
"She has passed through so many addictions (to booze and painkillers), through so many rehabs, and subsequent relapses, and re-rehabs, and through so many medical crises (brain tumor, broken back), all chronicled by the tabloids, that she comes to seem, at last, to be a gloriously vulgar principle of unsinkability."

Here is the complete list: Liz Taylor has had seven colorful honeymoons. Her first, at age 17, was with hotel heir Nicky Hilton aboard the Queen Mary. Next came actor Michael Wilding. Husband #3, producer Mike Todd, married her in Acapulco. After his untimely death, the widow fell for crooner Eddie Fisher. Then she married and divorced actor Richard Burton. Twice. Husband #6 was John Warner, a U.S. senator from Virginia. No. 7 was Larry Fortensky, whom she divorced in 1997.

Her candidness with Andy was amazing.

Now Britney is being included by the media in the multiple marriage club, which is led by Zsa Zsa Gabor according to this article.

Got to love Zsa Zsa for being a good house keeper: "I am a marvellous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man I keep his house!"

How elite are the elite? Very. How else can any business in this day and age have a one page website for a gallery? Ace Gallery is such a place. (That's Doug Christmas's place BTW). Move your mouse all you want that is the only page you will get. truDat.

But there are other ways of finding the information. Aha! Aha again! And again!!

Ladies and Gentlemen introducing Andy's pimples! Well, Andy has now officially been historized as having major skin problems. You can find this and much more in The Complete Picture. Here are some lyrics inspired by Andy's skin "Kissing Andy Warhol/ His skin feels like a shark," that's Simple Minds for ya!

And here is a direct comment on his skin and its relation to his wig, along with speculations on cell phones and the Net. This not so reliable biography says "Any headache or freckle was always a possible brain or skin cancer." Got lotions? creams? Tongue in chick skin. Got the blotchy skin. White and pale. Just don't notice his skin. At least he had that W.C. Fields nose.

The Getty museum Andy is referring to is the old Getty in Malibu. I did go to it a few times and have to admit that it is an amazing building. I always considered the building the actual attraction and not so much the collection, although I did like looking at a Caravaggio that they own whenever I visited. Check some photos (need to scroll down the text to see them). Here are some pictures of the new getty, which is amazing. When visiting the new Getty make sure to wear sunglasses or you'll go blind. The stone, which is imported from Italy, reflects the sun with unexpected intensity. I do find the new Getty as an attraction in itself. I do not check what is showing, I simply go. It is about the building. I find the exhibitions functioning as excuses to go back and enjoy the architecture. Well, from time to time I will go because I hear of an interesting exhibit. But mostly I go to look at the building. I know I may be getting into hot water here, as the architecture had been heavily criticized, though I believe such criticism is not justified.

The LA Times published an article when the new Getty opened in Bretnwood a few years ago, and one of their main points was that there were very few bathrooms and people were waiting in line to use them. I figured if this was the core of the criticism, it was simply a critic looking for the paycheck of the week... When you criticize the bathrooms to some detail, you are scraping the barrel in my book.

Ross, Diana. Every time I think of her Michael Jackson comes to mind as well. And then Bubbles and then the song "Thriller," and Motown and then Bubbles and M.J. as a sculpture, and then Diana as Michael's obsession, then Dirty Diana, and most recently all this is intertwined with the Jacksons wearing white to an odd affair: M. J. going to court to defend himself against child molestation charges, and then Janet and her breast showing, and La Toya talking about her father, and then Diana and Michael and the Wiz, and then Dorothy, and then and then Andy.
